Yes, hotels often offer discounted group pricing for wedding room blocks, but the amount varies by date, occupancy, and room type. The quote may be a flat group rate or a percentage off the best available rate. With a minimum of nine rooms, you can also ask about concessions such as suite upgrades, welcome bag delivery, welcome drinks, free parking, or extended check-out. Courtesy blocks are flexible; contracted blocks carry deadlines and attrition terms.
It depends on your agreement. Courtesy blocks in Fairlawn usually release any unused rooms back to the hotel by the cut-off date with no penalty, while contracted blocks may include attrition fees if you fall short of the pickup commitment. To protect your budget, reserve about 10-20% fewer rooms than your guest count and add if demand rises. Akron and Cleveland event weekends can limit last-minute flexibility, so confirm how the hotel will resell unused rooms before charging attrition.
